About the Role

As part of our continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join our Information Technology team.

Reporting to the General Manager - Information Technology, you'll play a key role in designing, developing and implementing integration and automation solutions that improve business performance across the organisation.

This role is responsible for delivering system integrations, automating business processes, managing data ingestion into our data warehouse, and ensuring the quality and availability of critical business data. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business to identify opportunities for automation and develop solutions that drive efficiency and innovation.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience developing and implementing system integration and automation solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex systems and business processes.
  • Experience working with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Knowledge of database management and data integration principles.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python or C++.
  • Familiarity with integration technologies and protocols including REST, SOAP, XML and JSON.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple business functions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Automation tools, Microsoft AIS, Boomi, SQL Server and SSIS will be highly regarded.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement integration and automation solutions across the business.
  • Analyse existing systems and applications to determine integration requirements.
  • Develop scalable, reliable and efficient automation solutions that meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and define integration strategies.
  • Manage data ingestion into the enterprise data warehouse.
  • Develop new data integration processes and maintain data quality and consistency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration, automation and data-related issues.
  • Maintain documentation for integration processes, automation workflows and system procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the Business Systems team.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support a culture of safety, collaboration and continuous improvement across the business.
