About the Role

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, compliance, governance and business performance analysis across the organisation. You'll work closely with operational leaders and stakeholders, providing financial insights, strengthening controls, supporting statutory obligations and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Support statutory reporting requirements and external audits.
  • Manage month-end and year-end financial close activities.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, journals and accruals.
  • Support compliance obligations including BAS, FBT, payroll tax and other statutory reporting requirements.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making.
  • Assist with payroll controls and the resolution of payroll-related matters.
  • Support the Financial Controller with technical accounting and compliance matters.
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, systems and controls.
  • Provide technical support, knowledge sharing and mentoring to finance team members.
  • Act as deputy to the Financial Controller when required.

What You'll Bring

  • CPA or CA qualification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Senior Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar role.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, statutory reporting and compliance.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, taxation legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing month-end and year-end reporting processes.
  • Experience preparing financial statements, management reports, reconciliations and journals.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Experience in a multi-site or service-based organisation.
  • Payroll experience.
  • Audit experience.
  • ERP system experience.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
